The Pressures of Life Series

The series below was inspired by my coastal swimming in Mylos, Greece in 2023. The rock formations and colours are contrasted against the sea. The rocks layers felt dense and stuck; the sea felt free and mobile. I called the group of paintings, The Pressures of Life, which resonated for me when thinking about the rocks; how they were formed, their weight and compression. Individually each title reflects the everyday experience of how we often feel in modern life.
